Oncor delivers electricity that you buy from your Retail Electric Provider (REP). We invoice the REP for the cost to deliver electricity to your home or business and those rates and charges are approved by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT). The most common cause of a high electric bill is the weather. As the temperature outside changes, becomes more extreme, so can our electric bills. Your electric bill is based on the amount of electricity you use and the rate charged by your Retail Electric Provider (REP), which includes Oncor’s cost to deliver the electricity to your home or business.
