Texas has miles and miles of power lines across the state, and electricity is a part of life for every Texan. Yet Texas kids have very little public-school education focused on staying safe around power lines and equipment. Oncor has a long-standing commitment to bridging the gap in electric safety education and has conducted various successful after-school programs to do so. Now we want to extend our reach.
In recent years, we've re-imagined and expanded the scope of our education efforts to create the engaging experience known as Super Safe Kids. We developed the Super Safe Kids program in collaboration with internal stakeholders, experienced educators, and community partners who share our commitment to safety. Four key elements make up the program:
Through memorable songs, hands-on activities, and unforgettable demonstrations, this program is bringing real-world safety skills to thousands of young students each year. By pairing the roadshow with public service spots airing on local PBS stations, we've been able to reach millions more with a message they won't forget: "Keep Away from Power Lines!"
Check out the Oncor Super Safe Kids calendar to see when the show is coming to area school districts.
