Oncor teams continue working 24/7 to restore power to the remaining customers impacted by storms this week. We are committed to repairing these outages as safely and as quickly as possible and will continue working through the weekend until all our customers receive power.

Most of the remaining outages are concentrated in the hardest-hit areas, which include East Dallas, North Dallas, Mesquite, Balch Springs and Lufkin and are the most difficult to repair. These outages are localized and impact individual homes or businesses or small clusters in neighborhoods. They are more complex to tackle and they affect only a few homes or businesses, instead of entire neighborhoods making the restoration process longer.

Customers without power should also examine the meter base and weatherhead to their home or business to ensure they have not been damaged or pulled off. If that has occurred, customers need to contact an electrician to make necessary repairs before Oncor can restore power. In some cases, a permit from the city will also be required.

We recognize the frustration and challenges of customers who are still without power are facing, especially after such devastating storms, and we appreciate their patience.

Safety for our teams and the public remains Oncor’s number one priority. If you see a downed power line, please stay away, keep pets and others away and call 911 immediately. In addition to the downed line potentially being electrified, anything touching the power line, such as a fence, could also be electrified. Do not touch the power line or anything else touching it.

Also, if you see Oncor personnel or support staff working, please give them ample space to ensure the protection of yourself and our workers.
