On Wednesday evening, less than 8,000 power outages remain and crews are continuing to work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. After days of round-the-clock restoration efforts, Oncor crews and mutual assistance partners have restored power to more than 340,000 customers impacted by Sunday’s severe storms.

While the majority of restoration has been successfully completed, crews are continuing to work on restoring power to areas with the most extensive damage. Oncor anticipates restoration for the remaining homes and businesses capable of accepting power to be completed on Thursday.

Customers who are without power are encouraged to check if their meter base and weatherhead have been damaged or pulled off. If any of these have occurred, customers need to contact an electrician to make necessary repairs before Oncor can restore power.

Remaining outages are among the most complex and time consuming, and often require the reconstruction of distribution equipment and replacement of utility poles and transformers. Oncor recognizes the hardships and frustrations customers have experienced due to extended outages and appreciates our customers’ continued understanding and patience.

The peak number of outages as a result of Sunday’s severe storms was more than 350,000. Utility workers from Texas and 11 different states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina and South Carolina, have been working alongside Oncor employees and contractors to restore power across Dallas County.

The safety of Oncor customers and those working to restore power remains a top priority. Anyone who sees a downed power line should leave the area and immediately call 911. Do not attempt to remove debris and tree limbs from areas near power lines and continue to use caution when traveling on the roadways.

Customers can report outages at Oncor.com or call 888.313.4747.
