Mutual assistance partnerships are a hallmark of the electric utility industry with a unique system that allows us to quickly deploy to or call upon our neighbors when bad weather strikes.

When they’re here, they treat our customers like their own – and we’re here to give them a Texas-sized thank you for their help.

As freezing temperatures, dangerous road conditions and high winds swept across the state of Texas last week, Oncor requested the support of 1,700 utility workers from our partner utilities across 10 states to prepare for the storm.

Utility workers from Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky and Missouri answered the call to help.

Just like our own personnel, these crews are trained to safely and efficiently work in a variety of restoration conditions.

Preparing to host these skilled out-of-state workers takes great coordination, planning and mutual respect for everyone involved.

For a behind the scenes look at how Oncor and our utility partners prepared for winter storm Landon, check out the video below.
