Oncor is donating $1 million to community nonprofit organizations across its service territory to help those affected by the recent severe winter storms in Texas.

“Oncor has a long standing tradition of supporting those most in need in our communities and now is no different given the difficult circumstances so many people are facing,” said Oncor CEO Allen Nye.

The donations will go to nonprofit organizations that assist those most impacted and most vulnerable, such as seniors, children, homeless, and low-income or displaced workers and families.

“We know that so many organizations have faced extreme hardships over the past year, first from the pandemic and now in the aftermath of this devastating winter freeze,” said Oncor Chief Customer Officer and Senior Vice President Debbie Dennis. “Our communities lean on nonprofits to provide relief, and we are proud to support and partner with them as they help our neighbors rebuild and recover.”

Oncor serves more than 10 million Texans in more than 400 communities. With more than 4,000 employees, we cover one-third of the state’s geographic area and are committed to giving back to the communities where we all live and work. In 2020, Oncor donated $1.7 million to support first responders, health care professionals and other communities and families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
