As the nation recognizes National Medal of Honor Day, Oncor is announcing a $1 million donation to the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation.
Oncor joins a philanthropic group of individual and corporate donors whose contributions are supporting the design and construction of the National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington, which broke ground today and is set to open in 2024.
The National Medal of Honor Museum, which will serve as a national landmark, will share the stories of Medal of Honor recipients and illustrate the historical thread of sacrifice, patriotism and courage that runs through all U.S. military service members, past and present.
“It’s an incredible honor for Oncor to be able to pay tribute to those who have given so much for our country and our freedom,” said Oncor CEO Allen Nye. “In supporting this one-of-a-kind memorial, we also wish to recognize the many members of the Oncor team and their families who have served – or are serving – our country. We stand beside our fellow Texans in recognizing the patriotism and valor of all Medal of Honor recipients and we look forward to celebrating the completion of this important and historic museum.”
“We are incredibly grateful for the support of Oncor and their generous gift toward the construction of this unique national treasure,” said Chris Cassidy, National Medal of honor Museum Foundation President and CEO. “The museum will not only help honor America’s greatest heroes, but will educate its visitors and uplift the surrounding Texas communities and inspire all of America. We look forward to continuing to work with Oncor and all of our supporters to complete the construction of this historic place.”
