Oncor customers have a new option for getting the most up-to-date weather information – Weather Current is a first of its kind monitoring service, designed by an energy company to provide customers with added value through regular updates on how weather is impacting their communities.
The program includes additional emphasis on community and public safety. Each forecast will include helpful tips and advice to educate Texans on the importance of safety around power lines and equipment, as well as helpful information to guard against potential storm and electricity hazards.
These forecasts will be an ongoing feature for Oncor’s social media channels and the Company’s brand journalism website, The Wire.
“We are always looking for new ways to deliver value for our customers, and Weather Current is another step forward in the process of providing superior customer service to the more than 10 million Texans we serve across our state,” said Debbie Dennis, Chief Customer Officer and Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs at Oncor Electric Delivery. “Giving our customers access to this information will grow our relationship with our customers and build our reputation as a transparent, innovative and safety-focused energy company.”
Jen Myers will be the face of Oncor’s Weather Current. Certified by the American Meteorological Society, Myers brings more than eight years of meteorology and television weather experience to bear for the benefit of Oncor customers.
