Inspiration for Cameron Young is only as far away as his cell phone.

“I talk to my dad every morning,” says Cameron, who usually calls his father around 6 a.m. while driving to his work as an Oncor Distribution Crew Supervisor in Tyler, Texas. “He’s kind of my go-to guy.”

Those daily talks help Cameron reflect on his immediate family, life and faith. And during Black History Month, Cameron says he’s also thinking about the African Americans who came before him.

“For me, it would be Dr. Martin Luther King,” he said. “He was an advocate for equality. He stood for inclusion, education, voting rights and achieving change without violence. He looked at the heart of someone and not the color of their skin.”
