Oncor personnel and resources remain focused on assessing damages, clearing storm debris, and rebuilding damaged infrastructure to restore power in East Texas following severe weather that brought flooding rain and destructive winds up to 70 mph on Monday, June 4. Some of the greatest affected areas include Tyler, Canton, Jacksonville and Lindale. We do anticipate that this will be a multi-day restoration. Customers are encouraged to check on elderly and vulnerable neighbors and to have a plan in place in the event of a multi-day outage.
To report a power outage or check the status of an outage, customers can text the word OUT to 66267, download and use the report outage feature on the MyOncor app , visit stormcenter.oncor.com and click the “Report an Outage” button on the Oncor outage map, or call Oncor at 888.313.4747.
With recent continued heavy rainfall in storm impacted areas, flooding may hamper restoration work and create access challenges for field resources. High water areas should be avoided by all members of the public and avoid any areas where damage is present. We appreciate our customer’s patience as we work as quickly and safely as possible to restore power to all communities impacted by recent storms and severe weather.
If you see Oncor personnel working, please remember to give them ample space to ensure the protection of yourself and our workers. Our personnel will continue around the clock work to restore customers that can safely receive power.
Use caution around power lines
As homeowners and tree-trimming contractors continue the difficult work of clean-up and debris removal around their homes and businesses, Oncor urges everyone to put safety first and take extra precautions during this process.
If you see a downed power line, leave the area and call 9-1-1.
Do not attempt to trim, cut or remove trees or vegetation from your property if power lines are in the area. This work should be performed by certified professionals.
Fallen trees and debris may conceal these lines or other hazards. You should always assume a downed or low-hanging power line is energized and stay away. Additionally, anything touching the power line, such as a tree branch, could also be electrified. Keep pets, children and others away from the area.
Reconnects After Storm Damage
If there is damage to your customer-owned equipment, such as the meter base or weather head, you may need assistance from an electrician before Oncor can safely restore power. Please visit www.oncor.com/storm for more information.
