“Weather Current” is a first-of-its-kind monitoring service designed by an energy company. Launched in March 2019, it provides customers with added value through regular updates on how the weather is impacting their communities.
Meteorologist Kaiti Blake took over “Weather Current” in August 2022. Kaiti brought nearly eight years of television weather experience to her role at Oncor. Kaiti is also certified by the American Meteorological Society.
Kaiti’s experience in meteorology and communication allows her to provide Oncor customers with the most up-to-date weather information in her forecasts. With this information, Texans can rest assured they’ll always be prepared for whatever weather changes are ahead.
Kaiti’s “Weather Current” forecasts will continue to be an ongoing feature for Oncor’s social media channels and the company’s brand journalism website, The Wire.
In addition to weather information, “Weather Current” will continue to provide additional emphasis on community and public safety. Each forecast will include helpful tips and advice to educate Texans on the importance of safety around power lines and equipment, as well as helpful information to guard against potential storm and electricity hazards.
“We are always looking for new ways to deliver value for our customers, and ‘Weather Current’ is another step forward in the process of providing superior customer service to the more than 13 million Texans we serve across our state,” said Debbie Dennis, Senior Vice President, Chief Customer Officer and Chief HR Officer at Oncor. “Giving our customers access to this information will grow our relationship with our customers and build our reputation as a transparent, innovative and safety-focused energy company.”
