Oncor is now offering a free analysis of building energy management systems to ensure they’re performing at their peak and maximum efficiency.

And Oncor will reimburse building owners for up to $2,000 of any system improvements that need to be made. If you sign up before June 26, you’ll also be eligible for a $150 bonus.

Oncor’s Find & Fix – Automated Systems program focuses on six key energy management system strategies that increase the efficiency of the entire facility. These six include areas such as equipment scheduling, supply temperature reset and supply pressure reset.

Santiago Pink, an Oncor facilities technician, said Oncor used the Find & Fix program to assess its own downtown Dallas headquarters building. “I would definitely recommend that building managers make the effort to do this,” Pink said.

After making the suggested improvements, Oncor was able to save nearly 529,000 kWh a year with a payback period of about a month. This is enough energy savings to power 63 homes for one year.

Oncor has hired Michaels Energy to conduct the assessments. To participate, customers submit a screening form and letter of authorization. Michaels will review the data, talk with your facility manager and then let you know if you’ve qualified.

“Michaels Energy looked at our building system controls and helped us to optimize the system,” Pink said. “There’s no reason not to do this. For us, the savings speak for themselves.”

If you’re selected, Michaels Energy will collect trend data from your building systems and do a facility assessment. Within a week, you’ll receive recommendations to install a combination of up to five strategies.

Michaels Energy works directly with your contractor. Once improvements are made, your facility will be able to start saving operational costs and energy.

Another Find & Fix – Automated Systems participant is Methodist Charlton Medical Center (MCMC) in Dallas. When the project was complete, Michaels Energy verified that the building is saving about 1.25 million kWh a year. Read more about MCMC project here.
