On November 9, 2017, Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC (Oncor) and Sharyland Utilities, L.P. (Sharyland) closed their transaction, and as a result, all of Sharyland's approximately 54,000 retail distribution customers will be served by Oncor. The process to fully transition customers to Oncor has begun and should be completed by early 2018.
Transaction closes on November 9. Oncor prepares its system for customer transition.
Transition begins on December 11. Customers will be transitioned in groups daily based upon their monthly scheduled meter reading date occurring between December 11 and January 9. The bill based on the meter reading during this timeframe will be the final electric bill calculated with Sharyland rates.
All customers should be transitioned by January 9. Approximately 30 days after the customer’s actual transition date, customers will then receive their first electric bill calculated with new lower Oncor rates.
During the transition, former Sharyland customers should continue to call Sharyland's outage number at 800-545-4513, which will be answered by Oncor after the transition.
