Ensuring adequate transmission capability is essential to help Oncor provide reliable electric service. Texas has been in a state of steady population and economic growth, which requires the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and utilities to continuously review transmission capacity. To serve the need of Texas' electric consumers today and in the future, Oncor builds transmission facilities in an economical manner.
In addition, Texas continues to integrate energy from cleaner and renewable sources into our electric market, while maintaining reliability and delivering electricity efficiently.
Expanding and upgrading our transmission system is critical to providing reliable electric service, meeting increasing demand and securing our energy future.
