Home Performance with ENERGY STAR®
General Program Overview
Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® is a national program from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) that offers a comprehensive, whole-house approach to improving the energy efficiency and comfort of homes, while helping to protect the environment.
Through the Program, an independent certified Service Provider (contractor) will deliver a home performance evaluation and make recommendations for improving its energy efficiency. These specially-trained Service Providers use state-of-the-art equipment and diagnostic tools to recommend energy efficiency improvements to achieve the best results.
But the home performance evaluation is just the first step. Working with your Service Provider, you will select the energy saving improvements that make the most sense for you and your home.
Additionally, Oncor provides financial incentives or directs you to participating third-party financing providers to help you make the improvements!
If you participate, you can enjoy the following benefits:
- Increase your home's comfort
- Reduce your home's energy costs
- Improve the health and indoor air quality of your home
- Extend the longevity of your home and its appliances
- Increase the resale value of your home
- Lower your carbon footprint
In addition, you will have access to benefits such as:
- Incentives or third-party financing
- A detailed energy action plan
- A Home Performance certificate of energy savings
