Ensuring adequate transmission capability is essential to help Oncor provide reliable electric service. Texas has been in a state of steady population and economic growth, which requires the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and utilities to continuously review transmission capacity. To serve the need of Texas' electric consumers today and in the future, Oncor builds transmission facilities in an economical manner.
To support our state’s renewable energy and economic development goals, ERCOT, in joint planning with Oncor, recommended several new projects improving our transmission system and increasing the grid's capacity.
Expanding and upgrading our transmission system is critical to providing reliable electric service, meeting increasing demand and securing our energy future.
